Why visit New York

New York is one of the most iconic cities in the world, with a unique blend of historic and contemporary architecture. It's the city that never sleeps, where there's always something to do, whether it's a Broadway show, a game or concert at Madison Square Garden, or just strolling the famous streets like Fifth Avenue or Wall Street.

Don't miss the opportunity to visit iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building or museums such as the Natural History Museum or the Metropolitan Museum. In addition, the Big Apple is known for its vibrant food scene and its wide variety of cultures and communities, each with its own district. This reinforces the message that "there is something for everyone" in New York.

Despite being a big city, New York also stands out for its green spaces. Iconic parks such as Central Park, the High Line and Bryant Park are world-famous postcards. Finally, don't miss the opportunity to experience the nightlife in places like the Meatpacking District or the East Village.

This city is known for having some of the most important and prestigious museums in the world. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, also known as "The Met", is the largest art museum in the United States and houses more than 2 million works of art from around the world.

The Museum of Modern Art, known as MoMA, is another must-see museum in New York. With over 150,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs and films, this museum is a unique experience for those interested in contemporary art and culture.

From the Statue of Liberty to One World or skyscrapers like the Empire State or the Chrysler, New York invites you to look in all directions to recognise its most iconic postcards. All of its buildings have a lot of personality and are a reference in their area: the New York Stock Exchange, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Public Library or Grand Central Terminal are just a few examples.

3 Churches and Temples

Although New York is not known for its churches, the examples on our list are worth stopping by and visiting. St. Patrick's Cathedral is an impressive place to visit in New York. Known as the 'National Cathedral of Ireland' and located in the centre of the city, this imposing neo-Gothic church offers a unique experience. It stands out for its majestic limestone façade, impressive stained glass windows and 25-metre high pipe organ.

Trinity Church is an impressive religious building in the heart of New York. With its imposing façade and majestic dome, this church in the middle of bustling Manhattan is one of the most photographed in the city. Its interior is just as impressive, with its colourful stained glass windows, elegant architecture and acoustics perfect for concerts and events.

3 Squares and Parks

Central Park is one of the most emblematic parks in the world. Covering 341 hectares, it is a green oasis in the middle of the city. Known for its natural beauty, the park is home to a variety of attractions, including walking and jogging trails, lakes, bridges, gardens and much more. It is also home to some of the best outdoor events, such as the Summer Festival and the Christmas Festival.

Further south, Battery Park is a popular and expansive park with stunning views of the harbour and the Statue of Liberty. In addition to its beautiful gardens and fountains, Battery Park is also home to some of the city's most iconic attractions, such as Castle Clinton National Monument and the Vietnam War Memorial, as well as a wide variety of shops, restaurants and cultural activities nearby.

3 Experiences and Activities

If you have some extra time left over after your sightseeing, or if you prefer to get to know New York in a more "hands-on" way, we recommend several activities. You can rollerblade around the iconic Rockefeller Center or take a cruise to Liberty Island in the Upper Bay - the choice is yours!
